Grab Mind Game in paperback

Put your preorders in.

I am thrilled to report that Mind Game will be available in paperback starting October 16. Get those preorders in and spread the word.

I’m hoping to drum up some interest in the paperback launch with an event or two in New York, so stay tuned. And reach out with any ideas or requests!

In other news …

I have found Renée

Sorta kinda, anyway. I just mean that the manuscript draft is in! I did it. I can’t wait to share the book with you all in just under a year. The working title is Finding Renée Richards.

New column

Because trans sports issues are literally always in the news these days, I have a new column up on Slate. It’s about why relegating trans athletes to a third category by themselves is absolute bogus that I won’t stand for. You shouldn’t either.

Many people who raise concerns about whether trans athletes belong in mainstream recreation are doing so as part of larger efforts to keep trans people out of other areas of public life, including locker rooms, bathrooms, and even prisons aligned with their gender identities. In the face of escalating attacks on trans people, including in sports, from Trump, along with conservative lawmakers and activists, it’s more important than ever to stand up for trans athletes fully—not with any half measures.

Happy reading and happy short work week!
